    Description
    Students will survey the African diasporan experiences in United States History from African origins to 1877. Emphasis will be placed upon the centrality of African American experiences and contributions. Topics include African diasporan influences upon the political, social, economic, and cultural development of the United States. Students will also analyze the historical development of the African American identity and African American community.
