    Description
Students will obtain a critical survey of history through the arts of pre-Columbian indigenous peoples of North America, Mesoamerica, and South America. The course will cover major societies and events from the appearance of major civilizations through the initial colonization efforts of European nations. This course will also include a discussion of contemporary indigenous cultures. The history of art in the Americas includes architecture, sculpture, ceramics, painting and textiles of ancient societies as primary source material. (C-ID ARTH 145)
