Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is an honors level introduction to the Spanish language and Spanish cultures/area studies, including advanced material and cutting-edge topics/trends. Emphasis is placed on communication skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and cultural understanding (behaviors, institutions, perspectives and artistic manifestations). The students will interact with authentic language in a cultural context. This honors level course encourages application of course knowledge to real-world problems/situations in a Spanish-speaking socio-cultural and linguistic context. Since SPAN 1H and SPAN 1 are equivalent courses, credit may be awarded for either SPAN 1H or SPAN 1 but not both.
