    This course is an introduction to the Spanish language in cultural context. Emphasis is placed on communication skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and cultural understanding. The course explores the diversity of cultures of the Spanish-speaking world by analyzing historical perspectives, cultural behaviors, social institutions and literary and artistic manifestations. The students will interact with authentic language in a cultural context. Completion of the course is equivalent to the satisfactory completion of two years of high school Spanish.
