    This course is designed to introduce the student to the principles involved in producing a diagnostic radiograph. The course includes detailed instruction in radiographic film, equipment, and accessories utilized in image production. The primary factors of kilovoltage (KV), milliamperage (MA), time, and distance are explained. Practical application of exposure calculations is performed. Also included is: discussion of the sensitometric properties of x-ray film; quality control, patient characteristics; pathological conditions relative to technique selection; the principles and designs of radiographic technique charts; and fundamental principles of digital radiography and fluoroscopy.
