    This course is the study and evaluation of techniques used in the treatment of chemical dependency. The content focuses on the exploration of substance use, abuse and addiction, assessment screening tools, 12 core functions of a substance abuse counselor, and treatment modalities. Topics include assessment and screening, intervention, relapse prevention, DSM-V diagnostic criteria, and discharge planning.
