Other topics that may be examined from a philosophical perspective include the nature of the self, truth, ethics, religion, science, language, beauty and art, political theory, or mind. Competing positions in the fields of metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and the history of philosophy are presented, discussed, and critically evaluated.
