- Presents terminology, classification systems, diagnosis-related groups, and data-abstracting techniques using automated and manual systems. Introduces current ICD diagnostic coding conventions and guidelines. Builds practical application skills in code assignment from brief diagnostic statements to more complex coding scenarios and case studies. Course may be taken concurrently with OAT 244 Procedure Coding.
