    This course is designed for the student interested in the field of commercial music and entertainment. The ensemble consists of singer, backup instrumentalists, and technical crew who work together to study and perform selected musical arrangements. Opportunity for solo singing is frequent. The course stresses the study and performance of the unique American idioms of vocal jazz and songs of the American Musical Theater. The study of proper vocal technique, stage presence, and stage movement are also stressed. The student may receive credit for this course for a maximum of four semesters. This course is repeatable as per Title 5, section 55041(a)(1).
