    This course is designed to offer the student instruction as a photo journalist, focusing on theory and practice in press and publication photography, with emphasis on using the camera as a reporting and communications tool. Specific attention will be given to reporting and interpreting news for print and Internet mass media. Covered are news and feature photography and photographic essays, including composition, impact, and creativity for newspapers, magazines, Internet, and other mass communications media. The course includes instruction in operation of digital cameras, composition, processing of digital images, and photo page design. Legal and ethical issues related to photojournalism are also examined.
