    Description
This course is a study, overview, introduction, and survey of American feature films as historical documents relevant to United States history since the end of the Civil War. The course emphasizes a historical analysis of how films, as cultural and historical documents, add to our understanding of the time period during which they were made. Students in this course examine how films from the past have commented upon race, gender, war, class, politics, and other important topics.
