    This course is an introduction to the marine environment. Students explore the physical, geological, chemical and biological characteristics of the world ocean. Topics include plate tectonics, waves and tides, ocean circulation, coastal features and beach processes, origin and structure of ocean basins, sediments, ocean chemistry, productivity, life in the ocean, oceans, and climate change.
