- Surveys and practices methods of literary interpretation and appreciation, from the close reading strategies of New Criticism to the contemporary considerations of reader-response theory. Interpretive papers on particular works of fiction, poetry and drama are required. Credit may be earned in ENG 219W or LIT 219W, but not both. (45-0)
