    Description
    This is the first of two noncredit courses which satisfy the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) requirement for entry-level public safety dispatchers who have no prior training or limited experience. The course will introduce students to the criminal justice system, criminal law, public safety professionalism and ethics, telephone technology, interpersonal communication and Community Policing. Students will learn the appropriate handling of specific types of incidents such as missing persons, domestic violence and child, elder, and dependent adult abuse cases. Noncredit courses may be repeated.
