Topics include the fire service's role in society; principles of fire behavior; firefighter health and safety; fire equipment operation and maintenance; and fire fighting tasks and techniques. The course emphasizes the requirements of the California State Board of Fire Services Certified Firefighter I training, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) standards and Professional Qualifications (ProBoard) requirements. This course combined with FIPT 381G Firefighter I Academy Skills Review and Certification satisfies all training requirements for the IFSAC Firefighter I certification.
