Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course provides intermediate-level instruction in the operation and maintenance of fire service equipment. Topics include extinguishers and protective equipment; hose, nozzles, and fittings; hose evolutions; fire service ladders; salvage and overhaul procedures; and physical fitness training. The course is designed at an intermediate level within the guidelines of training for Firefighter I certification as specified by the California Fire Service Training and Education Division of the Office of the state Fire Marshal. It is intended for students majoring in the field of fire technology or those interested in a career in the fire service. This course is a requirement for Firefighter I Certification.
