Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is the third in a series of four courses that collectively serve as the San Diego Miramar College Regional Fire Academy (MCRFA). Fire Fighter 1C covers skills and knowledge needed for the entry level Fire Fighter with a focus on the State Fire Training Requirements for Fire Fighter 1C Wildland Firefighting, S-130 Firefighter Training, S-190 Introduction to Wildland Behavior, L-180 Human Factors, C-212 Wildland Fire Chainsaws and Wildland Fire Fighter Safety and Survival. Other topics include Wildland Fire Fighter personal protective equipment, progressive hose lays, mobile attack and handline construction. To receive a passing grade in this course, a score of 80% or higher on all written exams and 100% on all manipulative tests is required per California State Fire Marshal regulation. This course is intended for students majoring in the certificate of achievement for the Fire Academy or those interested in a career in the fire service.
