Emphasis is placed on the application of social and emotional strategies, developmentally appropriate practices, supportive environmental design, and the principles of professional ethics and diversity in working with children and families. Observation techniques and guided practice are emphasized within a three hour weekly lab experience. This course is intended for students who plan careers in early childhood and family support programs.
