    Description
    This course provides Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) Specified Diagnostic and Repair training and Level 2 Procedures training. Students develop a high level of competency in the diagnosis and repair of Smog Check failures, including electrical/electronic systems and engine and emission control performance. Students with at least two years of engine performance repair experience who successfully complete this course may apply to the BAR for approval to take the state Smog Check Repair Technician License examination. Students also develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform Smog Check inspections. Students who successfully complete this course meet the BAR training requirements to take the Smog Check Inspector state licensing examination. This course is intended for current or future automotive technicians.
