An emphasis is placed on identifying basic cellular structures of neurons, learning basic anatomy of the brain, and operating common laboratory equipment. The course also focuses on laboratory safety training, chemical hygiene, improving computer literacy, proper use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining a laboratory notebook.
