Emphasis is placed on medical accounting terminology, ledgers, methods used in payroll accounting, preparation of account charts and correct completion of benefit and claim forms. This course also prepares students to work with insurance forms in medical offices, hospitals and other clinical settings and in the proper use of procedural and diagnostic coding utilizing the most current editions of Physicians Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases.
