Transfers ToCSUDescriptionPart 1 (Identical and Required): This course is a historical survey of the United States, from Indigenous North America to the end of Reconstruction. The course also introduces students to historical reasoning skills. Part 2 (Optional Expanded Description, Local College Discretion): This section offers a detailed explanation and clarification of the course description in Part 1. This course provides an overview of the diverse peoples who interacted, settled, and influenced the history of the nation and its developing economic, social, and political institutions. Concentrating on class, ethnicity/race, and gender, students are required to analyze a variety of primary and secondary sources, think critically, and write thesis-based essays.
