Emphasis is placed on the interrelationship of history, geography and anthropology on the dress of various cultures. Costumes are studied in terms of styling, fabrication, embellishment and local influences, such as the arts and crafts practiced by the group. This course is designed for students in multiple disciplines who are interested in gaining an appreciation of world costume, past and present.
