Emphasis is placed on the interconnections among grammatical design, content, and purpose. Students move beyond basic correctness to sophisticated aspects of sentence patterning in order to achieve clarity and force in written expression. This course is intended for transfer students, those who desire to write and/or speak as effectively as possible in their academic work and/or career, and those with a special interest in language and linguistics.
