Focus is on the job-ready, safe, legal, ethical and effective application of registered dental assistant functions. Rotations to specialty clinics are required. Directed clinical practice (DCP) is coordinated by a member of the Dental Assisting program faculty. Supervision of the student is shared by the staff of the dental office or clinic and a faculty member. This course includes clinical hours of dental radiography and administrative assistant duties. Students may not be paid for DCP. This course is for students who are enrolled in the dental assisting program.
