    Description
    This course is a study of the materials used in dentistry and the agencies responsible for dental materials standards. Emphasis is placed on the history of restorative dentistry and its related materials. Topics include restorative, preventive and cosmetic materials, prosthetics, the chemical and physical properties of each material, and proper manipulation techniques. This course covers safe materials handling practices with emphasis on potential hazards to patient, operator and/or the environment. This course is for students who have been admitted to the Dental Assisting Program.
