It covers early stone and wood architecture in relation to cultural and aesthetic elements of world civilization. Emphasis is placed on comparing and contrasting architectural structures including those from the Ancient World, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and the Americas. Historically significant structures are analyzed and technical, regional, and natural influences on architecture are explored.
