Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis lecture/lab course familiarizes students with the applications of statistics in process and quality control function. Students acquire, analyze, and interpret data collected from a manufacturing process to determine whether or not the process meets the statistical parameters of a customer's requirements. Statistical techniques include basic graphs and diagrams, control charts, process mean and variability, process capability, sampling, and normal distribution. Topics also include Six Sigma methodology and design of experiments as part of quality control and improvement. This course is designed for students who are interested in process control, quality improvement and industrial management.
