Emphasis is placed on foundational technical concepts as well as the strategic and operational aspects of managing an information security program. Topics include the foundations of information security; legal, ethical and professional issues of security and privacy; threat and vulnerability assessment; security risk management; roles and responsibilities of personnel; introductory cryptography; security considerations in system support; and access controls and maintenance for securing information assets.
