Students discover, develop, and critically analyze ideas in public discourse through research, reasoning, organization, composition, delivery to a live audience and evaluation of various types of speeches, including informative and persuasive speeches. Part 2 (Local): This course also includes an introduction to the rhetorical tradition of oral communication, emphasizing research, writing, and verbal and nonverbal messages. Communication theory is explored and applied to various live presentations using a variety of organizational contexts.
