Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course integrates theoretical and practical aspects of small-scale organic urban farming. It includes hands-on instruction and an introduction to a range of farm-related topics, including composting and vermicomposting, irrigation systems, propagation and greenhouse management, soil fertility, integrated pest management, plant pathology and disease management, permaculture techniques, and small fruit orchard management. Students explore personal agricultural interests through research projects, visit local farms and gardens and attend key sustainable garden and farm events throughout the semester.
