Topics will include basic neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, nervous system structure and functions, hormonal and neurochemical mechanisms, brain-behavior relationships underlying movement, sensation, perception, learning, memory, consciousness, emotion, regulatory processes, and psychological disorders. Historical scientific contributions and current research principles for studying brain-behavior relationships and mental processes will be addressed in this course. Ethical standards for human and animal research will be discussed in the context of both invasive and non-invasive experimental research. (PSYCH 141)
