    Description
    Course explores the fundamental concepts related to perioperative practice and provides a comprehensive introduction into the field of surgical technology. Areas of emphasis include: historical foundations of surgical science, legal and ethical concepts, understanding the surgical patient, duties and responsibilities of each member of the surgical team, teamwork, scope of practice, OR equipment and instrumentation, aseptic principles, physical and environmental hazards, sterile processing and infection control fundamentals, pharmacology and anesthesia, and perioperative case management.
