Different styles of life, determinants of class status, social mobility, social inequality, and changes in class systems are discussed and evaluated. Specific dimensions of social stratification discussed are economic and social class status, race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, political participation and power, and global stratification. Specific consequences of social status are evaluated. Both a macro and micro analysis will be applied to social stratification and its consequences on society and the individual.
