    This course will equip nutrition students with the essential skills of motivational interviewing (MI), a client-centered counseling approach proven to enhance behavior change. Through interactive lectures, role-play, and case studies, students will learn how to apply MI techniques to foster collaboration, strengthen client motivation, and address needed dietary and lifestyle changes. Emphasis is placed on practical strategies for building rapport, eliciting intrinsic motivation, and guiding clients toward sustainable, health-promoting decisions. This course is intended for future dietitians, nutritionists, and other health practitioners seeking to improve communication skills and client outcomes.
