Introduces pre-analytical variables, electrolytes and trace elements and their relationship to acid base balance, and enzyme kinetics. Studies relationships between the endocrine system analytes, including tumor markers, therapeutic drugs, and toxicology. Studies the clinical relevance of vitamin assays. Examines the correlation between test results and disease states for liver, kidney, and pancreatic functions assays. Introduces students to body fluid assays and correlation with disease states.
