The course covers the African continent and the diaspora, ballet, modern, musical theatre, tap, and dance media in the United States and Europe. Readings, class discussions, viewings and assignments are all integral parts of the course, and lectures will be supplemented with film excerpts, creative activities, and discussion of both assigned reading and materials viewed in class.
