Examines and analyzes the effects of cultural practices such as the division of labor and space in society, codes of language, the impact of new technologies, and power relations on the ways that women are represented and participate in visual culture. Explores women's changing relation to art practice. Includes analysis of feminism, gender roles, and identity construction in historical and contemporary art forms. Field trips may be required to complete course objectives.
