The model of the US Green Building Council for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) defines this course. Certification of buildings is examined including: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation in design. For residential construction, locations and linkages, as well as awareness and education are discussed. Regional priorities focus on water and air resources for Southern California. The LEED professional accreditations: LEED Green Associate and the 5 LEED Accredited Professional designations are also investigated.
