Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThe primary focus of this course will be on psychoactive drugs and their neural, physiological, cognitive, and behavioral effects. Both recreational and psychotherapeutic drugs will be examined. Core concepts will include neuroanatomy, neuronal communication, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs. These concepts will be used to understand the influence of drug action on various aspects of cognition, emotion, and behavior with specific emphasis on their role in psychological disorders and their treatment, recreational drug use, drug use disorders, addiction, learning and memory, cognitive enhancement, and dementia.Usually HeldMon Wed 1:30pm–2:50pm
