The course offers an interdisciplinary perspective on the contributions of women artists as evidenced in literature and the visual and performing arts. Using gender as the primary lens of analysis, this course seeks to uncover the broader contexts of female experience by probing the relationship women artists had to the historical periods in which they lived and worked. A field trip may be required.
