    Description
    placement through the assessment process. This course is part of the listening and speaking sequence that prepares ESL students to take college courses leading to a certificate, degree, and/or transfer. Students focus on developing phrases and sentences to communicate their ideas in academic situations. This course includes group and 368 English as a Second Language (ESL) individual listening and speaking activities including practice in the stress, rhythm, and intonation patterns of standard American English.
