This course focuses on learning academic reading and writing skills at the novice-high level, with an emphasis on vocabulary, reading comprehension, and the writing process. Students will read and discuss fiction and non-fiction texts. Students will develop simple and compound sentence control and will practice writing short paragraphs with a clear beginning, middle, and end, based on course readings.
