Transfers ToCSUDescriptionIndependent study allows a student or small group of students to work directly with an instructor independent from a structured class or course. The instructor and student(s) typically develop a contract together, outlining the course of study. Variable units enable maximum flexibility in creating this course of study. UC transfer credit will be awarded only after the course has been evaluated by the enrolling UC campus. The units completed for this course cannot be counted towards the minimum 60 units required for admissions.
