The course will examine a wide range of literature (fiction, non- fiction, poetry, memoirs, and essays) including but not limited to Native American legends, early California exploration accounts, prose and poetry from the California heartland, childhood memoirs, and more, with emphasis on the racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural diversity that make the California experience unique.
