    Description
English 355 This course is a study of the structure of English grammar systems, especially as they relate to writing. It includes the study and practice of traditional and transformational grammar in standardized usage, with emphasis on the relationship of grammar to writing (2,000 word writing requirement); it also includes the study of the history of the English language and implications of such within the culturally diverse population of California schools. It is designed for those who plan to teach or who are especially interested in grammar as it relates to writing with emphasis on the Common Core.
