Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is designed to introduce students to data communication and networking fundamentals. The course covers networking addressing, which includes calculations and conversions between binary, decimal, and hexadecimal numbering systems. It also surveys data communication hardware and software components and basic networking concepts. Topics covered include data communication, the OSI Model, IP addressing, routing concepts, LAN media, and network management and analyses. This is the first course in preparation for CISCO CCNA certification examination. SCC is a certified CISCO Networking Academy, and all courses are taught by CISCO Certified Academy Instructors (CCAI).
