Whether alarmed, skeptical, or just curious about climate change, students will acquire the scientific tools to analyze the evidence that climate change is a looming threat. Through lectures, readings, discussions and projects, students will examine the Earth's present and past climates as well as the influence of climate on the geographical distribution and diversity of plants and animals, extinction, and on human societies.
