    Description
    This course will allow the student to practice actual flight preparations as an aircraft dispatcher under various conditions. This course leads to FAA certification as an Aircraft Dispatcher. Required areas of instruction will include weather, performance data, weight and balance calculations, and special conditions encountered in flight planning. This course is required under 14 CFR Part 65 Appendix A Section VIII of Sacramento City College's FAA-authorized Part 65 Aircraft Dispatcher training program. Students who successfully complete this course will be eligible for a 14 CFR Part 65 course Certificate of Completion, valid for 90 days, that will authorize them to take the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Practical Exam with an FAA Aviation Safety Inspector-Dispatch or Designated Aircraft Dispatch Examiner. Practical Dispatch examinations are not given by Sacramento City College, can require fees of $600-$1000. Students who do not pass an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Practical exam within 90 days of successfully completing the course as required by 14 CFR 65.70(2)(b) may retake the course up to two additional times. Students must complete ATCAD 309, Airline Operations and Performance and show evidence of having completed the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher aeronautical knowledge exam (ADX) before beginning the course.
