Material presented includes illustrated lectures, readings, and discussions of the various manifestations of art in cultures throughout the world. This course is recommended as a basis for the understanding of art, including techniques and media; students will develop personal opinions concerning art and architecture and will learn to express those opinions through extensive writing about art.
